EMC - Heavy Vehicle Semi-Anechoic Chamber
MIRA's HVSAC is the UK's first independent absorber-lined EMC facility with a 70-Ton floor loading capacity. The cavernous main chamber boasts impressive dimensions measuring: 20m by 11m by 7m high. HVSAC's impressive specifcation make it ideal for EMC testing of large defence, agricultural, construction and commercial vehicles up to 70 tonnes gross weight in an RF semi-anechoic environment.
MIRA used advanced modelling techniques, developed through an internally funded research programme, in the design of the chamber. Rather than lining the whole chamber in costly electromagnetic absorber material, the specialised materials were intelligently restricted to local ‘hot spots’. This facility optimisation programme reduced the capital build costs without restricting performance. Consequently, the facility hire has been proportionally reduced, saving customers money.
