EMC - Vehicle Semi Anechoic ChamberMIRA provides the complete range of automotive EMC test services on behalf of off-highway and road vehicle manufacturers and their supply chain. Our extensive suite of ISO 17025 accredited automotive test laboratories are used for development, design verification and certification tests. A dedicated team of over 50 qualified EMC technicians and engineers with more than 500 man years of automotive engineering experience aim to provide the best quality service at very competitive prices. Our vehicle RF semi-anechoic chamber is capable of performing all mandatory vehicle level EMC tests and so vehicle movements on the MIRA site can be kept to a minimum. Vehicles can be off-loaded straight into the test chamber thereby maintaining our strict regime of security and confidentiality.
Immunity of Vehicles to Radiated Electromagnetic DisturbancesVehicle access into the 22m long, 10m wide test chamber is through a 3.5m wide, 4.7m high aperture. The maximum floor loading of 10 tonnes axle weight and dynamic loading on the dynamometer of 5 tonnes means that most trucks, buses, industrial, agricultural, forestry and construction vehicles can be tested in this facility. The powerful twin-axle rolling road dynamometer is capable of generating or absorbing 150 kW of power. It was specifically designed for wheel slip and skid simulation (anti-locking brakes and traction control functions), speed control and road load simulation. We have developed a comprehensive range of non-intrusive methods to verify the performance of modern electronic vehicle systems to ensure their EMC performance is evaluated in the manner they will encounter in the real world. We can also capture data by monitoring multiplex signal communications networks: CAN, ISO and SCP.
