Optimising vehicle aerodynamic design for real-world driving conditions remains the prime objective of vehicle aerodynamicists.
This applies whether the vehicle is an F1 racing car or a lightweight ultra fuel-efficient new concept. Striving towards this objective continues to drive the level of sophistication in wind tunnel design and simulation techniques to new heights. It is also challenging our understanding of aerodynamics itself as, for example, vehicle aerodynamicists seek to represent the complexity of the natural wind by designing turbulence in to their wind tunnels and simulations. Traditional ideas and techniques are being challenged and new understanding, new techniques and ultimately better designs will follow. |

MIRA's 6th International Vehicle Aerodynamics Conference aims to be at the forefront of these developments in aerodynamic thinking by providing an opportunity for aerodynamicists from different backgrounds to come together to share findings, explore new ideas and to shape the future agenda for vehicle aerodynamics research.
