MIRA Unveils Revolutionary Truck Cab Concept at CV Show 28 April 2006 |
MIRA unveiled an innovative new truck cab, "Optimus", at the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham's NEC.
By combining thorough benchmarking of the current best-in-class vehicles with input from drivers, fleet-managers and vehicle manufacturers MIRA's engineers established challenging targets for:
- Space
- Reduced weight
- Ease of manufacture & assembly
- Style
- Driver Comfort
- Practicality
- Aerodynamic performance
- Safety
Optimus sets new standards for European truck cab design. MIRA's experts in ergonomic design have developed a unique wrap around cockpit with clear instruments and all the essential controls at the driver's fingertips.
With a car-like-drive feel the practicality of the cab has been especially designed from the driver's point of view, paying special attention to space and comfort through integration of a climate control system, abundant storage and a walk-through cab.
For a vehicle manufacturer the modular design of the cab enables cost effective manufacture and ease of assembly. |
