The 27th April saw the end of Britain's largest transport and logistics event; The Commercial Vehicle Show. The three day event held at Birmingham's NEC took up five of the NEC's large halls. There were several changes made from last year's show, including a new show layout, key sector grouping and a centrally placed skills centre. With 600 exhibitors, this year saw 29000 visitors and major purchasing decision makers from every sector of industry flock to the NEC.
MIRA had an excellent show with visitors from a broad range of organisations including vehicle manufacturers and systems suppliers. On top of the unveil of Optimus, MIRA's new benchmark in HGV cab design, there were other exciting exhibits on our stand; IMI Vision's Direct Ammonia Injection (urea based) emissions reduction system, developed with input from MIRA's engineering team and using several of MIRA's facilities, gained a lot of interest, as did the model of our latest EMC chamber. Due to be opened on the 4th July this year, this our 9th EMC chamber is the UK's first independent absorber-lined facility with a 70 Tonne floor loading capacity, confirming MIRA's status as the largest provider of vehicle EMC facilities in the UK.
