Current vehicle systems use a serial bus - Control Area Network (CAN), to communicate vital control and status information relating to engine, transmission, brakes and more. Much of this information is used for the collection of long-term statistical data or to supplement measurement data acquired from sensors and instrumentation.
Speakers from industry, research and academia will introduce the fundamentals, format, accuracy and use of the digital data, followed by presentations on techniques, hardware and software available for practical acquisition and measurement.
