Young Driver of the Year 2008 29th April 2008

The 2008 Coventry and Warwickshire Young Driver of the Year Competition begins its search for the regions best young driver today, with a brand new taxed and fully insured Peugot 107 up for grabs. MIRA are hosting this year's event.

In 2006, 25% of car occupants killed on UK roads were aged 17-21.

Young drivers aged 17-21 can enter by completing and returning an entry form available at locations across the region including schools, colleges and libraries, or by filling in a form online at www.coventry.gov.uk/youngdrivercompetition.

The closing date for entries is September 15 2008.

MIRA Debuts - Plugless Plug-In Hybrid

  Automotive designers MIRA have unveiled a retro-fit hybrid conversion that unlocks the potential to save 61% on fuel costs and lower tailpipe emissions by 39% without designing a new car. . A technology demonstrator has been built around a popular b-segment car to show the potential of the technology.

Road Safety Experts Call for Driver Training. 8 October 2007
Automotive engineering specialists MIRA are harnessing the power of Road Safety Week to launch a new initiative to provide expert training to professional drivers of modern and often powerful cars.  The proliferation of the latest electronic driver aids has left a growing number of drivers unfamiliar with their car’s dynamic characteristics when taken to the limit. 
 
New Defence Standard in Force 6 September 2007
All new MoD contracts valued over £5 Million are now subject to a new Defence Standard concerning the reliability of electronic systems. The new Def-Stan 59-411 relates specifically to the Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) performance of all new MoD hardware.  Automotive engineering specialists MIRA Ltd are the first to gain accreditation to 59-411 (part 4).
