MIRA Strengthens its Presence in India by Announcing a Joint Venture with Caepro
MIRA Strengthens its Presence in India by Announcing a Joint Venture with Caepro
4 January 2012
Indian companies will now be able to benefit from improved access to MIRA’s extensive engineering and test capabilities after the announcement of an exciting new joint venture between MIRA Ltd. and Caepro Technologies.
The formation of MIRA Caepro Pvt. Ltd in Pune, India will enable MIRA to offer full-vehicle and systems engineering, integration, test, development, validation and certification services for a wide range of land vehicles including cars, trucks, off-highway, agricultural, and defence vehicles.
The announcement was made on the first day of the Auto Expo in Delhi by MIRA’s CEO George Gillespie, in conjunction with Business Development Director Geoff Davis and Caepro MD John Roebuck. Commenting on the joint venture, Roebuck said: “We can be cleverer with the use of resources and give Indian customers access to world-leading industry best practice with significant cost benefits.”
The newly announced joint venture builds upon MIRA’s previous successful collaborations with established Indian firms such as Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland, and will now enable the company to offer local-cost solutions to current and prospective Indian clients. The move will also allow the internationally renowned vehicle engineering consultancy firm to carry out low-cost in-house CAE locally in India. “We currently outsource CAE activities to various partners around the world, but it’s clearly in our interest to outsource exclusively to Caepro,” commented Davis, pointing to the “commercial benefits” of undertaking CAE activity in-territory rather than in the UK.
MIRA’s newly established local presence in India showcases the firm’s commitment to the regional Indian market and demonstrates the company’s intention to carry out increasingly more work in-territory using local resources and facilities.
